How does the Emmi-pet differ from other canine toothbrushes?

Emmi-pet ultrasonic toothbrushes work differently from the traditional manual or electric toothbrushes that use mechanical friction. The emmi-pet applies modern ultrasound technology. During use of the emmi-pet cleaning is not produced by the usual grinding of traditional toothbrushes, but by soft ultrasound. The application of soft ultrasound is absolutely harmless for humans and animals, irrespective of age. Research has proven that a maximum output of 50 watts is harmless, Emmi-pet only uses 0.2 watt. The positive effect and safety have been proven and confirmed by veterinary dentists and veterinarians. The dental and mouth care with ultrasound have been applied for years, without any side effects. Millions of ultrasound waves are generated every minute by the patented ultrasound chip in the brush head. The ultrasound waves are transmitted via each bristle to the ultrasound toothpaste. The supplied Emmi-pet ultrasound toothpaste contains microscopic air bubbles, also known as microbubbles, these microbubbles that have been enriched in an additional production step. The ultrasonic vibrations destroy the structure of the microbubbles and they collapse. This creates a suction effect that removes biofilm and the plaque from the teeth. 

How do i know my dogs teeth need cleaning?

When food particles and bacteria accumulate in your dog's mouth plaque is formed, plaque is a sticky clear film that covers the teeth, when combined with saliva and minerals it forms into hardened plaque. This causes irritation to the gums, decay and tooth loss and an inflammatory gum condition called gingivitis. Symptoms include, smelly breath, brown or yellow teeth. Red or sore gums or off their food. At 2 years old dogs usually show signs of oral disease. 

FAQ’s 

Will it hurt my pet? - no, the process is completely painless and no brushing or scrubbing is involved.

How quick is the process? - there is not a definitive answer to this as it depends on the individual dog's teeth condition. From the first session the emmi-pet kills bacteria and has a positive effect on your dogs oral health. 

What happens if my dog doesn't like it? - we will never force a dog to have any treatment, some dogs take a few sessions to become totally comfortable, however if a dog is excessively unsettled we will terminate the session. 

Teeth cleaning terms and conditions

If your dogs teeth are showing signs of excessive amounts of tartar build-up or their teeth are in very poor condition, we will recommend that your dog is seen by a veterinarian. It may be that your dog requires a dental descale before we can maintain their teeth using the emmi-pet toothbrush. We cannot guarantee the treatments effectiveness or suitability for individual dogs due to varying external factors.

Each dog will have their own toothbrush head which is supplied during their initial appointment, this toothbrush head will be labelled and sealed in a bag and held at K9 design studio - Lowestoft. The toothbrush head will need to be replaced after every 20 treatments (unless your dog chews on the brush and damages it). Replacement brushes are charged at £10 each. 

At K9 design studio - Lowestoft we are not vets and we are unable to diagnose any problems with your dogs mouth, the Emmi-pet procedure is not a veterinary procedure and results will not be instant.

We cannot be held responsible for any problems arising from poor dentition before, during or after any ultrasound treatments.

Removal of tartar, however mild, can occasionally reveal conditions that could not be seen prior to cleaning, if this occurs it is the owners responsibility to seek veterinary attention and K9 design studio - Lowestoft is not liable for any costs incurred as a result.

Initial appointment - including the dogs own toothbrush head, initial consultation and first teeth cleaning session  = £40

Maintenance only appointment - can only be booked after the initial appointment is completed and will include 1 teeth cleaning session without a grooming session booking = £30

Maintenance appointment alongside a full groom - this can only be booked after the initial appointment but can be booked alongside your dogs regular grooming session = £20
